Complexion, Reviews, Skin Care - February 11th, 2012
Acure Organics is a newer company that specializes in face care products. Acure Organics “is a family owned and operated company founded on sustainable principles to provide the highest quality fair trade, natural and certified organic personal care products.” They donate a portion of their profits to provide free mammograms to at risk women, as well as donating to Bright Pink. Pretty much, they sound awesome.
I decided to purchase a bottle of the Oil Control Day Cream, because I liked the ingredients. It’s supposed to improve texture and tone while minimizing fine lines and wrinkles – since I’m going to be 33 in less than a month, I’m ALL ABOUT minimizing fine lines and wrinkles. I’m also really oily, so anything that helps minimize oil gets an A+ from me. The really interesting thing is the 1% Chlorella Growth Factor. I wasn’t familiar with Chlorella Growth Factor, so they helpfully have a whole page with info about it. The page also talks about their antioxidant blend, that’s also in the product.
So, what’s the scoop on the product? I was a little concerned because of the oils it contained, but it turns out it’s pretty awesome. I stopped worrying about cocoa butter so much after I tried Lush’s Enzymion, and this moisturizer is even lighter in texture than that. It’s light, but still leaves my skin feeling quenched. With regular use, it does seem to help cut down on oil production, so I don’t get the oilies nearly as bad. I also had fewer breakouts during “that time of the month” with this, so I think it definitely helped with that.
At $18.99 (and I got it on sale at New Seasons Market, so it was a few dollars less!), it’s a VERY good price compared to other brands with similar quality. Overall, I think it’s a great moisturizer for oily skin, especially for someone like me who is also concerned with fine lines and wrinkles. Two thumbs up!
