In life, you gotta love the skin you’re in, right? And if you have sensitive skin like I do, you really gotta show it some love! With UV rays, pollution, and the dust of every day living, using cleansing and toning products that are gentle on your skin is key.
How Do I Know If I Have Sensitive Skin?
According to webmd.com, people who have sensitive skin say that certain household products cause stinging, redness, or tightness. If using creams and cleansers causes a general feeling of discomfort, there’s a good chance your skin is on the sensitive side. In fact, it may even cry in movies.
But don’t worry, taking care of your sensitive skin every day doesn’t have to take a lot of time. As someone who doesn’t want to spend much time fussing with fancy cleansers, creams and lotions, I want a skin care product that is fast, effective, and affordable.
I’ve chosen five popular skin care products, and have tried and tested them myself to give you the real deal. And just in case you need a little more convincing, I’ll be sure to include other user reviews as well.
So here we go, my fellow skincare shoppers! Check out these 5 gentle products that will make your skin grin!
1. St. Ives Apricot Acne Cleanser – $3.25
I gotta say, St. Ives knows what’s up with skin care products! With this particular cleanser, if you have sensitive skin like me, you won’t be disappointed.
St. Ives Apricot Acne Cleanser is dermatologist tested, and contains 100% natural extracts. And if you’re looking for an everyday cleanser that won’t dry out sensitive skin, you can use this one in the morning, and at night. It’s great for removing makeup, though I always use a bit of eye makeup remover beforehand as well.
And it looks like I’m not the only one who loves it. Another happy reviewer says: “It smells great, keeps your skin moisturized and doesn’t dry it out like most cleansers. It has all the vitamins in it help keep my skin clearer than even most $40 cleansers. I couldn’t possibly give this product any bad review.” Trust me – for sensitive skin, this cleanser is tough to beat.
2. Boots No7 Beautifully Balanced Purifying Toner – $6.39
Also tough to beat – Boots No7 Beautifully Balanced Purifying Toner. But first, why should you even use a toner? For three very important reasons. A toner deep cleanses, balances, and hydrates your skin. A lot of people think that cleansing sensitive skin is enough, but most dermatologists and beauty experts recommend toning as well. This toner is one of my faves, too. It really cools your skin off after you cleanse, which I love. It contains zinc and seaweed extract, as well as vitamin a and vitamin e.
One happy customer says that she needed “something that will care for my aging skin without over drying, nor over moisturize. I find this toner perfect.” For sensitive skin, I love the refreshing feeling a toner gives after you cleanse. Feels like a fresh start in the morning to get me out of bed!
3. L’Oreal Dermo-Expertise RevitaLift Day Cream For Face & Neck – $25.00
One thing you shouldn’t forget when you get out of bed is your day cream! And I’m not just talking to the ladies here. Men need to moisturize their skin, too! It’s a great way to start the day and put your best face forward.
L’Oreal Dermo-Expertise RevitaLift Day Cream For Face & Neck is a great everyday moisturizer. What’s great about this day cream is that it can prevent aging as well. It contains Pro-Retinal A, an anti-wrinkle ingredient that’s known to accelerate skin renewal. When using this, I noticed that my sensitive skin never felt irritated; it actually felt refreshed and super moisturized.
One happy male reviewer (I told you guys would love this!) says:“Let me apologize ahead of time for my review because I’m a guy and don’t know all the terms for facial descriptions when it comes to ‘beauty tips.’ Anyway, I got this product mostly out of curiosity, but I am glad I did and would recommend it to anyone.” There ya go, fellas! Looks like this L’Oreal day cream is for the ladies and the gents!
4. Cindy Crawford Meaningful Beauty Restore Night Cream – $34.99
Speaking of gents, I’m sure the guys out there would love anything that includes the words “Cindy Crawford.” But she’s more than just a pretty face! She’s actually a businesswoman, too (gotta love the model turned powerful businesswoman – mad props to Heidi, Tyra, and Cindy for that). This Revlon legend developed her own skin care line that she actually uses and promotes, called Meaningful Beauty.
And she looks just as amazing now as she did 20+ years ago! Cindy Crawford seems to be aging like fine wine…..

Cindy Crawford’s Meaningful Beauty Restore Night Cream may be her secret beauty weapon after all. And it’s a product I really enjoy using to this day. It’s lightweight, and is designed to boost the production of collagen, while also targeting wrinkles. It has pretty much everything you’re looking for in a skin care product.
The beauty experts say that night time is the best time for your skin to regenerate. And since we spend approximately a third of our lives asleep, you’ll want to make sure you invest in a high quality night cream! One thrilled reviewer says that “Meaningful Beauty is like a face lift in a bottle. I don’t believe there’s any other product like this on the market.” And it passed my sensitive skin test, so I’m a huge fan.
5. Biore Self-Heating Mask (8 masks) – $29.99
The Biore Self-Heating Mask is definitely a unique product as well, and it certainly passes the sensitive skin test. A mask that heats itself up? Come on now, that’s pretty sweet. I’ve been using these glorious Biore masks for years. In fact, I might have to choose this as my favorite on this list for sensitive skin.
Sorry Cindy, I really love your night cream, but this mask brings the heat, without a plug.
All you have to do is splash your face with a little water and apply the mask – the water will activate the heat. And get this….as you massage the mask, it turns blue so you know it’s working. And according to another loyal Biore user like me, “My skin looks and feel great since using this product as a deep exfoliating weekly product – in lieu of going to a day spa and spending $50.00, to have the same thing done.”
So remember, when it comes to caring for sensitive skin, it’s all about a little TLC. If you can commit to a skin care regimen that involves cleansing, toning, moisturizing, and the periodic mask treatment, you’ll be well on your way!
