The Body Shop Seaweed Matifying Day Cream Review
I purchased this moisturizer because I was looking for a cheaper alternative for Shiseido's Pureness Matifying Moisturizer Oil-Free. I love Shiseido's Pureness Matifying Moisturizer, it's very light weight and perfect for those who have extremely oily skin, but the price of it is too expensive for me to keep repurchasing. When I felt the texture of the seaweed matifying day cream in The Body Shop store, it felt as if the seaweed matifying day cream and Shiseido's pureness matifying moisturizer were the exact same moisturizer. However, The Body Shop's moisturizer was extremely affordable compared to Shiseido's moisturizer. For $13 you could get 1.7 oz of The Body Shop's seaweed matifying day cream, and for $33 you could get 1.6 oz of Shiseido's pureness matifying moisturizer. So since the price was too good for me to pass up I decided to purchase The Body Shop's seaweed matifying day cream without reading any reviews, which is very surprising because I have become very cautious on what I decide to put on my skin nowadays. The moisturizer had all the right qualities that were perfect for my skin type; for example, it is a seaweed moisturizer for combination/oily skin, and from what I have learned seaweed is really good for your skin, so I decided that I didn't have to read any reviews in order to make a decision. However sadly, what I didn't know is that this is one of the products that I regret purchasing. The first few days I used this product, I didn't have a problem with it. However as time went by I noticed that each time I applied the moisturizer it felt as if it was hurting my skin but I didn't see any changes in my face (no redness, acne, etc.) My skin just felt very irritated and hurt after I applied it, so I decided to stop using it, and I definitely won't repurchase anymore of this product and anything from The Body Shop's Seaweed line. I'm not a beauty expert or a beauty guru so I really don't know the exact reason why my skin hurts whenever I apply this moisturizer, however it may be because I have extremely sensitive skin, and I need a gentle moisturizer. I did read some reviews on this product before writing this review and they were all positive reviews about this product so I think it all comes down to your skin type to see if this product will really work for you or not. For those of you guys wondering, I have acne prone, sensitive, oily skin.
