Cosmetics Aficionado: Desert Essence Gentle Nourishing Day Cream

I have been using this close to 2 weeks. I like to use skincare items for at least 2 months before reviewing, but I disliked this one enough that I am discontinuing use of it. I figured I would at least let everyone know why I quit this product.

I bought this because it is supposed to be natural, and it has Argan Oil in it. I was hoping it would be nourishing without over moisturizing my face. Since I am super lazy I just took pictures of all of the information on the box and the list of ingredients instead of typing it all out ...

It says for dry and sensitive skin. I don't have dry skin (oily or combination), but I do have sensitive skin. I added glycolic acid to my skincare routine just over a month ago, and wanted something nourishing to help prevent drying from the glycolic acid. This stuff reacts with the glycolic acid or something, because when I put it on my skin starts stinging. You do get an initial sting from glycolic acid, but it goes away real fast. This stuff makes my face sting for a good twenty to twenty-five minutes.I also noticed any marks in my face looked more inflamed, and stayed redder looking throughout the day. In fact in this lipstick picture from yesterday you can see a lot of redness around my mouth.

This stuff is an OK moisturizer.

When I first squeezed some out I saw hit with a strong, stinky smell. This stuff does not smell good. AT ALL. I rubbed it around in my hands before applying it, and I noticed it felt kind of thick. When applying it to my face I noticed (other than my skin stinging) that is didn't smooth out over my skin. It actually sort of gripped my skin. The smell on my skin from the lotion took a good hour to go away. Or maybe I just stopped noticing it at that point. It did make me feel self conscious to have a stinky face from this stinky lotion.

As far as good points go, it did not break me out and it didn't leave my face greasy. Those were not good enough points to get me to keep using this though. I am returning the unused portion.
