My sweet friend from college, Julie "Rosenstud", married her college sweetheart, Bruce, they had two baby girls and lived happily ever after. I checked in with Julie from time to time on facebook and she was up to crafty stuff like knitting and other diy crafty things. Life was perfect for her.

Until March 21, 2011 when Bruce was diagnosed with cancer. He died on Monday of this week. The funeral was yesterday. I just found out last night since I don't check in with Facebook probably as often as I should. My heart broke for her and I cried for over an hour even though I haven't seen my sweet friend in probably 20 years. And then I read about how Bruce dealt with his diagnosis and how he created the holiday "Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day" - it seems Bruce dealt with his diagnosis Randy Paucsh style, he too was more Tigger than Eeyore.
